Trump & Takaichi: ‘Japan is Back’ Diplomacy

Trump and Japan's PM Takaichi display 'Japan is Back' hats, echoing Abe's legacy. Deals and a 'golden age' in US-Japan relations are highlighted, strengthening the alliance.

The White Home on Tuesday posted to X an image of 2 black caps stitched with “JAPAN IS BACK,” authorized by President Donald Trump and Japan’s freshly chosen head of state, Sanae Takaichi, a little bit of social-media stagecraft and diplomacy that drew a cozy reply from Tokyo.

Takaichi enhanced the article and restated her thanks. “My sincere recognition to Head of state Trump for his relationship. Japan, along with our ally, the united state, is figured out to do everything we can to add to peace and prosperity at the heart of the globe,” she created on X, pricing quote the White Residence’s “JAPAN IS BACK!” image.

Echoes of Abe’s Legacy

The hats weren’t the only nod to Abe’s heritage. Takaichi, an Abe protégé, provided Trump with golf souvenirs connected to the previous leader. Abe, especially, was the initial foreign leader to satisfy Trump after the 2016 united state election, a relationship supported over several rounds of golf.

Ceremony and Collaboration in Tokyo

Takaichi turned out full honors at Tokyo’s Akasaka State Guest House, where a guard of honor and band welcomed Trump before functioning talks. Over lunch, defined in a White House readout as “American rice and American beef, deliciously made with Japanese ingredients,” Trump congratulated Takaichi for on coming to be Japan’s very first woman prime minister.

As noted in a Reuters report, the leaders signed a rare-earths and critical-minerals arrangement and a joint declaration touting a “golden age” in U.S.-Japan connections. Trump, in turn, informed Takaichi the United States would be there for “anything you want … any kind of prefers you require.”
