Pennsylvania residents could quickly be among the initial to bid farewell to daylight saving time for good. Back in April 2021, the state’s House of Representatives passed a bill with a slim 103-98 vote that can develop an irreversible daytime conserving time, thus removing the twice-yearly clock adjustments.
In the meantime, daytime conserving time is still set to end this year on Sunday, November 3. Whether this will be the last time Pennsylvanians readjust their clocks stays unpredictable, yet the trend is clear– more and more people await an irreversible modification.
This year, as usual, the clocks will certainly fall back on Sunday, November 3, signaling shorter days ahead. While viewpoints on this practice differ, many agree that the largest perk is acquiring an extra hour of sleep.
Rep. Ryan Mackenzie, who sponsored the bill, described the clock modifications as “inefficient and out-of-date.” Mackenzie believes there’s growing assistance for an irreversible time basic and sees Pennsylvania leading the way in this modification.
As September starts and summertime starts to unwind, it’s time to think of the upcoming end of daylight saving time. With temperature levels beginning to cool down and fall just around the bend, the moment to adjust our clocks is approaching.
